All-round Financial Employee

Are you the talent we are looking for to help shape our Finance department?

32 - 40 hrs · Rotterdam

Nearfield Instruments is an international start-up located in Rotterdam. Our company brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop a revolutionary high throughput atomic force microscopy (AFM) system, enabling atom-scale resolution 3D metrology at industry-level throughput. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced metrology machines.

Of course, this brings about a comprehensive financial administration, which is why we are looking for an analytical talent in accounts payable and General Ledger accounting to support our financial team.

What will you be doing?

As an All-round Financial Employee your main focus will be on accounts payable, in which you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining our financial records. You are also responsible for accurate General Ledgers accounting practices.

Specific tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Update and maintain accounts payable information in our system, including communicating effectively with suppliers regarding invoice inquiries and payment statuses.

  • Record and document day-to-day financial transactions including the financial project administration.

  • Reconcile and maintain accuracy in balance sheet accounts.

  • Actively contribute to streamlining and optimizing the administrative processes.

What do you need?

For this position, having an analytical mindset and being able to work accurately are of the utmost importance. You must be able to work both independently as in a team.

We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and likes a challenge. Working in a start-up can be hectic at times, but also provides great learning and development opportunities. In the current phase of the company, you can actively contribute to solidifying our financial processes.

Therefore we are looking for a candidate with:

  • An MBO (Vocational) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in general accounting, accounts payable management, and Grand Ledger accounting.

  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

What do we offer?

Our multicultural financial team currently has 4 members. You will be working in an informal and openminded environment in which we highly value teamspirit. After all, Together Everyone Achieves More!

Besides a challenging role where you can utilize the full extend of your professional knowledge, we value your work-live balance and time for some relaxation. Not only do we offer the possibility to partly work from home, but you can also boost your energy by playing a match of table tennis or clear your mind during our weekly run with colleagues.

Of course we offer a fair and competitive salary.
Next to that we also provide:

  • 30 holidays per calendar year (based on 40 hours a week, excluding national holidays);

  • 8% of your annual salary (gross) holiday allowance;

  • Commuting allowance;

  • A good pension plan;

  • Work from home allowance (1 day);

  • Discount on your health insurance.

We look forward to hear from you!
