About the job
As Export Control Officer you will ensure Nearfield’s compliance with national and international export control laws and regulations. You will play a vital role in preventing the unauthorized export of goods that could have military, security, or economic implications. This involves managing the export licensing process, product classification, maintaining records, and train and advising colleagues on export control matters.

As Export Control Officer you will ensure Nearfield’s compliance with national and international export control laws and regulations. You will play a vital role in preventing the unauthorized export of goods that could have military, security, or economic implications. This involves managing the export licensing process, product classification, maintaining records, and train and advising colleagues on export control matters.
Some of the important topics that are on your agenda.
· Compliance with Regulations: ensuring adherence to all relevant export control laws and regulations, including those specific to certain countries.
·Product Classification: determining the appropriate classification of goods under export control regulations, often in collaboration with other departments like Design & Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Product Management.
·Licensing: managing the entire export licensing process, from application to ongoing compliance, often working with customs authorities and relevant governmental bodies.
·Managing complex export transactions: the officer may deal with a variety of goods and destinations, requiring a thorough understanding of export regulations and potential risks.
·Record Keeping: establishing and maintaining comprehensive export records, ensuring they meet audit and inspection requirements.
·Training and Awareness: educating employees on export control regulations and best practices.
·Advisory Role: providing guidance and advice to management on export control compliance issues.
·Audits and Inspections: preparing for and participating in audits and inspections related to export control compliance.

About you

In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of export control regulations in a hardware environment: this includes understanding the specific laws and regulations relevant to the company's operations and the countries it exports to.
Experience with export licensing procedures: familiarity with the process of applying for and obtaining export licenses.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: ability to assess potential risks and develop solutions to ensure compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Attention to detail: ensuring accuracy in all aspects of export control, including record-keeping and screening procedures.
