IT Support Technician

Provide 1st line support to our Windows OS, Linux OS servers and clients users.

Full-time · Rotterdam

Nearfield Instruments brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop a revolutionary high throughput atomic force microscopy (AFM) system, enabling atom-scale resolution 3D metrology at industry-level throughput. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced metrology machines.

What will you be doing?

  • Technical support to Windows OS, Linux OS servers and clients.

  • Evaluating, categorizing, and logging user requests and provide 1st line of support solutions.
  • Follow up requests to ensure timely resolution of problems which cannot be solved in the 1st line and pro-actively look for possible solutions.
  • Installation and maintenance of existing and new servers, workstations, laptops and printers.
  • Assist and advise users with technical incidents or questions.
  • Maintain a continuous streamline of support to users.
  • Contribute to the technical planning for the migration of software packages.

Who are you?

  • An IT professional with a passion for IT and 1-2 years of work experience in a relevant role.

  • A MBO or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or similar subject is considered an asset.

  • Sys admin experience with 1st and/or 2nd level of support is a pré.

  • Knowledge on and experience with Linux server environments.

  • Previous experience with management of Active Directory.

  • Work experience in an international environment is considered an advantage.

  • You are characterized as pro-active, responsible and reliable.

  • Good English skills, both written and verbal.

  • You have full working rights for The Netherlands. Visa/work permit sponsorship can unfortunately not be offered for this role.
