About Nearfield Instruments

Nearfield Instruments (NFI) is a fast-growing scale-up high-tech company. We design, develop, integrate, market and service advanced metrology machines. Our machines enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers – to increase the production yields, and thus, functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.

What will you be doing?

  • As a member of our Supply Chain Team, you will be responsible for procurement of high-tech parts and modules for our metrology systems, following our Purchase Order Process.

  • You closely interact with our engineering- and R&D teams to make sure that the technical-, certification- and cleanliness requirements, additional supplier documentation, as well as product acceptance criteria, for each procurement are fully understood by all parties and considered in decision making.

  • You prepare Request for Quotations (RfQ’s) based on technical- and other requirements in close cooperation with the Nearfield Project Managers.

  • You advise where needed on potential suppliers to include in RfQ’s in the domains as mechanics, electronics, mechatronics and optics.

  • You maintain professional supplier contacts, prepare quotation reviews and trade-offs from RfQ’s and organize the subsequent Purchase Order (PO) approval loop and execution process.

  • After granting PO’s to suppliers, you keep in close contact with the suppliers and our Project Managers, until the items under order are delivered and accepted.

  • You are a focal point within the Supply Chain team in case of issues with the ordered items arising from the full assembly and verification tests of our metrology systems.

  • You build strong and sustainable relationships with the suppliers and always ensure professional and smooth communication.

  • You keep a clear overview of the status of each PO request and issued PO’s.

What do we require from you?

  • MSc., BSc. or Vocational diploma (MBO) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar technical procurement role for highly complex systems in a high-tech, low volume industry.

  • Previous experience with semiconductor equipment procurement is a plus.

  • NEVI certification is highly appreciated.

  • Technical background and supply chain knowledge in the domains of mechanics, electronics, mechatronics and optics is needed.

  • Experienced in building constructive and sustainable relationships with suppliers.

  • Flexible and capable of working in a high-tech project-based environment.

  • A real team player with strong interpersonal skills and a quality orientation.

  • Able to bring yourself up to speed in all the technical knowledge from documentation and on-the-job training.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and committed to achieve results on time.

  • You have a good command of the English language, both written and oral.
