Our machines enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers – to increase the production yields, and thus, functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. 

Founded in 2016, we bring together the most creative minds (approx. 400 employees) in science and technology and develop a one-of-a-kind, revolutionary high throughput Scanning Probe Microscopy system. 

Where you will be working? 

As part of the HR Team in the Netherlands, you will work across a wide range of functional areas both locally and globally. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our teams are fully skilled and equipped to consistently deliver high‑quality results—contributing directly to an outstanding customer experience. 

You will also collaborate closely with the training coordinator who is being hired to set up a product‑centered practical training center, working together to implement NFI’s overall approach to training. 

What will you be doing? 

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for the  development, execution and administration of training programs across the organization. This role leads and aligns stakeholders to build and improve cross-functional training programs and measures.

  • Develop and drive NFI’s learning & development plan

  • Coordinate with trainers, managers, and teams to plan and track training activities.

  • Own and enhance skill matrices to identify needs and match employees with the right learning formats.

  • Improve how training materials are created, stored, shared, and tracked, including supporting new tool adoption.

  • Oversee and continuously improve the onboarding training journey.

  • Monitor effectiveness, track key KPIs, and act on identified gaps.

  • Support the exploration and implementation of innovative training methods such as VR and AI. 

  • Lead cross‑department upskilling initiatives aligned with business needs.

  • Develop and maintain SOPs and workflows related to learning and development.

Job requirements

What are we looking for? 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Learning & Development, Applied Psychology, Education, Business Administration, or related field. 

  • At least 4 years of experience in L&D, training coordination, instructional design, consulting or talent development, preferably within a fast-paced, scale-up environment  

  • Proven experience in implementing instructional design and adult learning principles 

  • Strong understanding of training needs analysis and skill‑matrix development and the connection to capabilities and job families  

  • Experience leading and working in cross‑functional teams.

 

Skills 

  • Ability to automate workflows, create compelling SharePoint communication sites and to use data to drive improvements   

  • Experience with administering and configuring LMS platforms, a plus if you have led the implementation of an LMS

  • Experience in managing vendors and external partners to achieve agreed upon results 

  • Ability to step in as a facilitator for internal workshops and to manage interdisciplinary projects
