About Nearfield Instruments

Nearfield Instruments (NFI) is a fast-growing scale-up high-tech company. We design, develop, integrate, market and service advanced metrology machines. Our machines enables our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers – to increase the production yields, and thus, functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.

Founded in 2016, we bring together the most creative minds (approx. 380 employees) in science and technology and develop a one-of-a-kind, revolutionary high throughput Scanning Probe Microscopy system.

Where will you be working?

In this role, you are part of the "Logistics & Operations team." The company is growing, and we are seeking a motivated colleague to join this dynamic team and strengthen our operational excellence and flexibility.

We are looking for a Logistics & Trade Compliance Coordinator to take end-to-end control of inbound and outbound logistics, combining trade compliance oversight with day-to-day shipping execution. In this role, you will ensure that all shipments are executed efficiently, compliantly, and on time, while maintaining strong alignment with regulatory requirements and internal stakeholders. This position strengthens flexibility, continuity, and operational excellence across our supply chain.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform and review EXA-A and EX1 controls to ensure export compliance accuracy

  • Apply correct UN classifications for regulated goods, in collaboration with the QSHE team

  • Manage and apply relevant customs procedures and regimes to ensure compliant and efficient goods flows

  • Ensure export-control compliance under the supervision of the Export Control Officer

Shipping & Logistics Execution

  • Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across road, sea, and air freight

  • Book and organize transport, selecting cost-effective and reliable solutions

  • Maintain daily communication with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers

  • Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, disruptions, or transport issues

  • Safeguard delivery timelines and service commitments

  • Handle shipment documentation, order entry, and accurate registration in the ERP system

  • Manage transport-related insurance matters and damage claims, coordinating with warehouse and forwarders

Cross-Functional Coordination & Operational Excellence

  • Act as the primary point of contact for logistics and compliance-related questions

  • Align closely with Warehouse, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Spare Parts, and Project Management teams

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipment flow, compliance alignment, and operational resilience

  • Contribute to logistics reporting and analysis using Excel (performance, costs, improvement opportunities)

Why is the position interesting for you?

Become an essential part of our supply chain operations, directly contributing to seamless global logistics and regulatory compliance.

Play a central, impactful role as the key liaison between multiple internal departments and external logistics partners, ensuring smooth operations worldwide.
