The Senior Technical Account Manager (Sr. TAM) leads strategic account growth and business development at a major U.S. semiconductor manufacturing customer, partnering closely with Intel Technology Development (TD) organizations. The role is responsible for expanding Nearfield’s footprint by aligning customer technology roadmaps, node transitions, and volume ramp plans with Nearfield’s product and innovation strategy.

Working directly with Intel TD counterparts, the Sr. TAM identifies and drives new technology opportunities, influences early adoption decisions, and positions Nearfield solutions for future node enablement. This includes active participation in roadmap alignment, evaluation planning, and long-term technology integration to secure sustained engagement in upcoming process transitions.

The Sr. TAM serves as the primary technical interface between Nearfield and the customer, requiring strong technical credibility, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to influence senior engineering and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Account Strategy, Roadmap Alignment & Business Development

  • Develop and execute comprehensive technical penetration strategies that drive revenue, margin expansion, and long-term strategic positioning.

  • Engage directly with Intel TD leadership to align Nearfield’s technology roadmap with future process node requirements and integration plans.

  • Identify, shape, and drive new technology opportunities from early evaluation through qualification and production adoption.

  • Translate customer roadmap and ramp plans into structured opportunity pipelines and actionable internal development plans.

  • Position Nearfield technologies for selection in current and future technology nodes, including next-generation manufacturing transitions.

  • Identify competitive gaps and define technical action plans to achieve preferred supplier status.

  • Lead new business pursuits and develop internal business cases supporting strategic investments.

Technical & Executive Customer Leadership

  • Act as the primary interface between Nearfield headquarters and the customer on technical matters related to new product introduction, sustaining development, and HVM process transfer.

  • Establish working relationships across Intel TD, manufacturing, integration, and executive levels.

  • Influence key decision makers through data-driven value propositions and technical differentiation.

  • Ensure customer evaluation feedback and technical requirements are translated into clear internal priorities and execution plans.

  • Represent the voice of the customer in product development, upgrade planning, and service strategy discussions.

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and executive alignment.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead coordination across Product Unit Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, Program Management, and Field Support to ensure cohesive execution.

  • Drive internal alignment around roadmap priorities, resource allocation, and commercialization timelines.

  • Facilitate Nearfield participation in strategic customer management reviews and technology forums.

  • Develop and present executive-level updates summarizing opportunity status, risks, financial impact, and competitive positioning.

  • Ensure intellectual property integrity and disciplined information management in all customer interactions.

People & Organizational Leadership

  • Directly manage and develop account team members and other assigned direct reports.

  • Establish clear performance objectives aligned with strategic account growth and technology engagement milestones.

  • Provide structured coaching, regular performance feedback, and development planning.

  • Ensure accountability, prioritization discipline, and execution rigor across the team.

  • Build organizational capability to support long-term roadmap alignment and sustained customer engagement.

  • Foster a high-performance culture centered on ownership, collaboration, and measurable results.

Education

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical discipline.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in Technical Account Management or strategic technical roles within the Semiconductor Capital Equipment industry.

  • Demonstrated success driving new technology adoption and influencing roadmap decisions within semiconductor technology development organizations.

  • Strong understanding of metrology applications and their technical and economic impact in advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

  • Experience working directly with technology development (TD) organizations on new node introduction and qualification programs.

  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder development and commercialization initiatives.

  • Demonstrated managerial experience with direct reports and team leadership responsibility.

  • Strong executive communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • High level of analytical problem-solving and cross-functional leadership capability.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including periodic travel to headquarters in the Netherlands.
