The Role
Nearfield Instruments is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our customer service operations across the country.
This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for service delivery, customer satisfaction, team performance, and operational excellence across all customer sites in South Korea. The role goes well beyond managing a single site or account; you will be responsible for the overall service organization supporting multiple strategic customers, including Samsung, SK hynix, and future customer engagements.
As the senior service leader in Korea, you will build and develop high-performing Field Service Engineering teams, drive customer success, manage critical escalations, and serve as a trusted partner to both customer leadership and Nearfield's global management team.
You will play a key role in scaling our Korean organization as Nearfield continues its growth journey in one of the most important semiconductor markets worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Service Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the South Korea Service organization, including Field Service Engineers, team leads, and future service management resources.
Create a high-performance culture focused on customer success, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Develop succession plans and career development paths for service employees.
Recruit, onboard, and scale the service organization in line with customer growth.
Customer Leadership
Own customer service relationships across all Nearfield customer sites in South Korea.
Act as the senior escalation point for customer, operational, and technical issues.
Build trusted relationships with customer management, engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders.
Drive service excellence and ensure key customer expectations are consistently achieved.
Operational Excellence
Ensure maximum system uptime, service efficiency, and customer satisfaction across all installed systems.
Establish and monitor KPIs, service metrics, and operational performance indicators.
Lead service planning, resource allocation, and workforce management activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
Business Growth & Strategic Contribution
Partner closely with the Country Manager to support business expansion and customer growth initiatives.
Support new customer introductions, fab expansions, and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
Provide strategic input regarding customer needs, service readiness, staffing requirements, and operational risks.
Contribute to Nearfield's long-term growth strategy in South Korea.
Global Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Applications, Operations, and Global Service teams.
Ensure effective communication and alignment between customers and headquarters.
Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve complex technical and operational challenges.
