Our machines enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers – to increase the production yields, and thus, functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.
Founded in 2016, we bring together the most creative minds (approx. 420 employees) in science and technology and develop a one-of-a-kind, revolutionary high throughput Scanning Probe Microscopy system.
About the job
We are seeking an experienced end to end leader to lead Nearfield Instruments South Korea. This individual will have end-to-end responsibility for driving business growth, executing large client programs, and ensuring delivery of high-quality products and services to support our corporate goals.
The VP Sales and Country Manager will act as both business leader and general manager, overseeing Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and R&D operations in South Korea. This role requires deep expertise in semiconductor front-end processes and equipment solutions across lithography, etching, CMP, and integration — with a proven ability to turn complex customer challenges into high-value, scalable solutions.
What will you be doing?
Lead Nearfield Instruments South Korea with full P&L responsibility and accountability for growth, market share, and customer success.
Drive strategic planning and execution for South Korea site operations, aligned with corporate vision.
Oversee and integrate Sales, Marketing, support, and R&D activities to support regional customers.
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with top-tier semiconductor manufacturers, ensuring Nearfield is the Partner of Choice (POC).
Translate customer voice into product improvements, working closely with HQ R&D, Applications, and local support teams.
Lead business development initiatives to capture new opportunities and expand Nearfield’s footprint in Taiwan and the broader APAC market.
Provide trusted leadership to foster collaboration across local and global teams, ensuring “One Team” culture.
Uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity in business management and customer partnerships.
Job requirements
MSc/PhD in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field; MBA preferred.
15+ years of leadership experience in the semiconductor equipment industry, with a focus on lithography, etch, CMP, and/or metrology.
Demonstrated track record of growing business, leading complex programs, and managing multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated track record of providing excellent customer support and service
Strong background in front-end process technologies and semiconductor consumables/materials development.
Proven ability to build and manage strategic customer relationships at the executive level.
Highly motivated, disciplined, and resourceful manager with strong problem-solving and execution skills.
Experience in leading new product introductions from development to manufacturability and market adoption.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both English and Mandarin.
