Senior Data Processing Software Engineer
Nearfield Instruments brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop a revolutionary high throughput atomic force microscopy (AFM) system, enabling atom-scale resolution 3D metrology at industry-level throughput. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced metrology machines.

This will be your team:
Within our Design & Engineering department this role is part of the Software Group. This SW Group consists of 5 teams (Architectural, Machine Control, Device Control, Data Science, Integration & Support).
Take part in all development aspects from design to production
Write high quality, testable and efficient code
Design and implement SW components to control complex HW
Initiate and promote new ideas for continuous improvement of the product
Work independently and as a team member (sometimes on a global scale)
Maintain existing code
Education, Experience and Background:
Education: MSc/BSc/BA degree in Computer Science or a related degree
Mandatory Experience: 5+ years’ experience in SW development, OOP Design/Architecture, Real Time Computing, Unit-Testing
Knowledge: Signal Processing, UI development, Artificial intelligence (advantage)
Background: Semiconductors industry (advantage)
Skills:
Coding / Design / Quality: C# (alternatively C++), Math.Net, Python.Net, Python, PySide / PyQt, NumPy, Pandas, SciPy
Source Control and Configuration: Git, CI/CD
Process and Tracking: Agile/Scrum, Jira
