Nearfield Instruments brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop a revolutionary high throughput atomic force microscopy (AFM) system, enabling atom-scale resolution 3D metrology at industry-level throughput. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced metrology machines.

What will you be doing?

As a Sr. Business Development Manager, you focus on growing and developing existing clients, together with generating new business. Your plan of approach is based on analyses and structured in a business plan you developed. You play an integral role in new business pitches and hold responsibility for effective on-boarding of new clients. The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel. Next to that you will act as the key interface between the customer and all relevant divisions by spotting market trends and new customer requirements. Translating these into business opportunities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Sales Revenue

  • Account Retention

  • Customer Satisfaction

  • Cross-Selling and Up-Selling

  • Market Share

  • Product Adoption Rate

What do we require from you?

Our future Sr. Business Development Manager will be spearheading the sales activities mainly in South-Korea. Strong sales skills are a must. This includes the ability to negotiate contracts, close deals, and meet sales targets.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field

  • Proven track record as a Key Account Manager, in High-Tech - Semiconductor industry, or similar role.

  • Deep understanding of the semiconductor industry and metrology applications. This includes knowledge of the manufacturing process, the role of metrology and the challenges faced by customers.

  • Technical understanding of the benefits and features of metrology applications to the customers.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for account management for long-term success.

  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts is vital. This includes understanding the customer's needs and providing solutions that meet those needs.

  • Excellent ability and drive to solve problems and handle issues that arise during the sales process is important.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of the (Asian) market and cultural awareness (understanding of the local business culture and practices).

  • Proficiency in MS Office, with exceptional knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to travel as needed.
